Christmas Child was a success!
We did not only reach our shoebox goal of 200 but also exceeded it—219
boxes! Praise the Lord! I am truly proud of our group of students who
went above and beyond to love children from all around the world with God’s
love! In Bible, Joseph and his being rejected will be examined.
Science We viewed a BrainPop video on “Fossils”
and we will continue digging (pun intended) in deeper to learn about our
pre-historic creatures, the dinosaurs. In History,
we will learn about the Hittites, the empire builders, and the Lydians, the
makers of money. The Passport test is
Tuesday, tomorrow!
Math lessons will be on drawing segments to
close in an area and on polygons.
Reading
We are drawing to a
close in our class novel, The Tale of
Desperaux. Three more days of reading, and the novel will have been completed! This tantalizing tale evokes emotions and
shares truths of life and the value of love!
Language
Arts We have poets,
already, in our classroom. We are
creating our own poetry books! Mechanics, Usage, and Grammar (M.U.G.) Hyphens create compound adjectives; connect
separated syllables at the end of a line; and create compound words.
Spelling We are studying words with the schwa
before the letter l and the letter n. Also in Vocabulary, we continue our study of words relating to the word
study of suffixes, -ment, -ion, -ing,
-or, ic, -al, -ous, -cy, -(t)ion, or -ence (section D), and the reading of
a passage and checking comprehension through answering in sentence form
(section E).
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO!!!
Have a blessed week, Ms. Chang

NEXT FRIDAY…Hebrews 10:11-12 (Bible Memory Verse—BMV)
And every priest stands daily at his
service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away
sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he
sat down at the right hand of God.
