uring our chapel last Tuesday, we learned about the ten lepers who
were healed by Jesus. Of the ten, we see
that one went through the trouble to turn around and go back to God in order to
offer Him thanks. Of the first blessing
(healing from leprosy), the second one was better—healing of his soul. May we, also, like the Samaritan leper find
ways to praise God by putting forth the effort to thank Him.
Adopt-a family is a way we can pay it forward by reaching out locally to families
in need during the holidays. These
families do not have the means to celebrate Christmas, so we are able to
provide them with material things with the support of others who will provide a
tasty meal. What a privilege it will be
this holiday to share our blessings with our adopted family: boy (16), girl
(15), girl (10), boy (2), Mom, and Dad. A specific list is attached.
Science We studied about fossil formation: fossils preserved in sediment
and fossils preserved in other materials.
This week, we will learn about two ways of looking at fossils through
evolution or creation and learning from fossils through their excavating,
preparing, and reconstructing of them.
We will also learn about the dating of fossils. In History,
we will learn about the Canaanites and the Israelites conquest of Canaan, the
Israel as a nation, and the Assyrian Empire.
Math lessons will be on picturing fractions, part two; half of an odd
number and fractions on a number line; comparing fractions by drawing pictures;
and pictures of mixed numbers.
Reading We finish our reading of The
Tale of Desperaux with a celebration of a movie and treats this Friday! Bring a stuffed animal or pillows to get
comfy. Also, the November reading calendar
is due tomorrow.
Language Arts We have poets, already, in our classroom. Last week, we created “Alphabet Alliteration”
and “Cinquain” peoms. This week will be creating “Color,” “Concrete,” and “Creature
Alliteration” poems. Mechanics,
Usage, and Grammar (M.U.G.) Colons introduce a list in a sentence, express
time, and make a formal introduction of a quotation. Semicolons, also, will be examined. Spelling
We will not begin a new lesson this week in order to take the test on last week’s
list. Also in Vocabulary, we
continue our study of words by creating phrases (section A), substituting a phrase or word (section B), and word meaning study (section C).
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO!!!
Have a blessed week, Ms. Chang
Homework (read 20

Bible Memory Verse
(BMV)—Hebrews 10:11-12
And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the
same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered
for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
