School Carnival Thank you for supporting our event and class booth. I hope you enjoyed the food, games, and fellowship!  Funding raised will help buy more class novels.
First Quarter The first quarter is drawing to an end.  Time is steadily trekking on.  You are doing great!  Also, keep graded work for verification of grades, if needed.
"Do It Now" aka Bell Starter:  These daily question-and-answers are a reading test grade.  The early birds can “catch” a homework pass for ten correct answers.

What we are learning … Bible  “Moses Serves God” is the theme for this week.

Math Lessons 31-34 will continue to add on new principals and build on previous ones.
The students grade (using a marker or pencil crayon to distinguish from mine—red pen) their designated peer’s answers.  While grading, they write the correct answers for each lesson to benefit them in multiple ways: They capture the correct answer modeled by the teacher; learn note-taking skills; build self-responsibility in gathering study notes; and invest in successfully preparing for their future test.
Science The use of worksheets will help to solidify understanding in the formation of fossils and dinosaurs.
Health Bill Nye the science guy engagingly helped us to understand the heart and circulatory system.  We are learning the value of keeping this muscle in shape with exercise and of making smarter choices in eating healthy.
History The in-depth study of the “Ancient Middle East” chapter will be continued.  Study for passport.
Reading  I stated in my email to you last Friday concerning the project:
I am so excited to hear about their points of view…A wealth of knowledge [is shared] to each classmate by their sharing of the book from their own perspective or take on it....They need not be artists like Picasso or Van Gogh....[and] do not[need to]…stress over this project….I would much rather give them the chance to tell me about the book by picking out what they have learned and not through questions that I have come up with using multiple choice, true and false, matching, and short answer over the whole book….This type of assessment is not bad; we do this in all subjects, but this is another way for me to [assess learning and] be quite intrigued by their creativity and thoughtful minds.

Spelling and Vocabulary (Worldly Wise) Prepare little-by-little each day for the test!
