Chang’s Future Leaders: Newsletter April 13



Creation Day!  Welcome back.  We hope you all had a blessed Spring Break and enjoyed the Day of Our Risen Lord! Also, we are planting the garden out front.  Please help contribute by bringing perennial or annual bulbs to plant, gardening gloves, and gardening hand tools.
Counting Down! There are only two weeks left before we have our science fair projects completed and turned in for presentations.  I hope that your experiments are going well.  Remember, this project should be fun while we learn the process of writing, collecting data, graphing, and displaying
What we are learning…
History Get ready for a new unit (3) on “Europe: Birthplace of Western Civilization.”  We are beginning with “Ancient Greece: Home of Beauty.”  As you prepare for the next history test, make sure that you are making connections to the text so you can recall it for the test!
Science We are continuing on with the chapter on” Biomes.”  Make sure to follow the due date sheet.  By April 30th, your project should be about complete since we start presentations on May 1st. 
Poetry The last poem—“Who-What-When-Where-Why” (final draft)—will be due Tuesday.  Self-reflection and critique due Thursday.  The binding of the books with a ribbon for the final draft and with staples for the rough draft will be due next Monday.  Presentations begin on Tuesday of next week.
Reading Continue reading and logging your time daily in your calendars.  They are due tomorrow. 
Spelling Bee Five contestants will be chosen for the spelling bee contest (May 19th). 
Math test 18 will be Tuesday.
Bible We begin the Lessons 12 for “Gideon Faces Fear.”  Keep studying for the memory verse due Friday.
