Chang’s Future Leaders: Newsletter March 30

Auction The auction amazed me with the generosity of the community involved to help the school be better equipped to fulfill our mission.  Thank you—once again—for all you help in playing a part in this school.

Bulletin Board This month, we are decorating the board.  I would appreciate some help in bringing down the current one and setting up our new one.  Our theme verse is based on love; hence, the heart is in the owl (left) clip art!

What we are learning…

History Get ready for a new unit (3) on “Europe: Birthplace of Western Civilization.”  We are beginning with “Ancient Greece: Home of Beauty.”  Great job on the History test!
The open book portion allowed you to redeem each point lost for half a percent back!  Hence, even if you received 50% first time around, but you could get half back (25%) from the second time around by using the textbook to receive a 75%.  This was the same for the Science test…
Science Get ready for a new chapter—“Biomes.”  Make sure to begin your Science Fair project experiment so you can gather measurable data that will be graphed.
Writing “Five Senses” (final draft) due Tuesday.  The last poem—“Who-What-When-Where-Why” (rough draft)—will be due Thursday.  Yes, you are seeing this repeated from last week.  We pressed the pause button on poems to focus on the science fair project.
Reading Continue reading and logging your time daily in your calendars.  They are due Tuesday, April 14th.  April calendars were given out today.  We finished Bud, Not Buddy and are making a mini-literary device book.
Math test 17 will be Tuesday.
Bible Lessons (11.1-11.4) Test for “Deborah Helps Others” review game is on Monday.  Test will be on Wednesday. Keep studying for Romans 12:8 memory verse for THIS Thursday.
