Chang’s Newsletter—May 18th

Hello Parents/Guardians,

The field trip to the Pacific Science Museum was very exciting and educationally enlightening with the Pompeii exhibit, insects, butterflies, dinosaurs, hands-on body exhibit, and show on volcanoes.   The Spelling bee is tomorrow; please come and join us.  On June the 5^th, we have scheduled a field trip to the beach off the Puget Sound.  Also, come and join us Tuesday, May 26^th 8:00-8:45 a.m. in the chapel to watch our fine fifth grade students perform their skits and put their faith into…“lights, camera,...action!” 

Homework for Following Day (*Tests/Quizzes):

Monday to Friday ~ Reading daily 20 minutes of an age-appropriate novel; study for Passport

Monday ~ Math Test Lesson 109 odds

Tuesday ~ Spelling Lesson 30* and cursive; Wordly Wise 16A-C; Spelling bee competition for 5^th grade class only

Wednesday ~Math Lesson 110 odds; Science—Biomes Chapter Test (open notes)

Thursday ~ Math Lesson 111 evens; Bible Verse Test (see below); no BMVP

Friday ~ Math Handout (on the backside of the newsletter)

May 19 ~ K - 4th Spelling Bee 9-11:15 am/5th -8th Spelling Bee 1:30-3:00 pm

May 19 ~ PTF Meeting 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

May 25 ~ Memorial Day (NO SCHOOL)

May 26 ~ Chapel—please come attend to watch our God-honoring skits

May 28 ~ Passport Testing

June 5 ~ Spirit Day: Hawaiian Shirt Day

June 5 ~ Dad's Breakfast 7:00-8:00 am

June 9 ~ Eighth Grade Promotion

June 10 ~ Awards Ceremony 9:30 at CCA gym

June 11 ~ Field Day/Last Day (1/2 Day Dismiss at noon)

Field Trip Date

June 5 ~ Beach side Field Trip off of Puget Sound; sack lunch, extra shoes and socks, towel, light jacket, and squirt guns (optional) are needed.  No swimming on this trip, because it is still too cold.
